Looking to add a few covers into my original bands repertoire. Currently we cover Last Child, Fame, and Have a Cigar. I am looking for suggestions of some well know funky songs, by well known rock bands. Here's a link as to what my band sounds like so you can get an idea. Thanks!

You and your outfit have a really cool thing going on, there.

Lot's going on on that stage, keeping it very tight. Fully engaged audience, too.

    Ya'll IS funky!

    Good job.

Miss You by the Rolling Stones. Really funky song that's fun to play, and variations on the main riff are easy to come up with and jam on. Good dynamics too

All the 70s rock bands were funky. Some more:

Rock'n'roll hoochie koo by Rick Derringer

Hush by Deep Purple (and loads of other Purple)

Saturday Night Special by Skynyrd (Galactic used to cover this)

The Crunge and Trampled Underfoot by Zeppelin

With that horn section, it would be a sin not to do some Steely Dan, Chicago, and Tower of Power.

Btw, you guys sound great. I would love to see you live.

    Oh YEAH! +1

Lots of Kravitz would apply, for that matter.
