Me.
Our lead singer just quit the band because he wanted to go "Total Dance Music" and I wouldn't. He now wants to be a dj and "keep up with the newest dance tunes."

Uggh. Guess I'll be singing.

Me--if my keyboard player picks up his guitar one more time to 'fill the mix' during one of my solos, I'm going to break it over my knee. How do you teach someone that just because they own a guitar and know how to finger a chord doesn't mean they can actually play? JUST STAND THERE AND DO NOTHING UNTIL I ASK YOU TO.

Been there and had to do that, although that was largely down to me being the band songwriter and the singer not always liking what I was writing for him. It was the best thing I've done (deciding to handle lead vocals that is), with the added bonus of reducing the size of the band and thus making it easier to control:banana What was that about rock guitarists again ....... ?:rotflmao

Leslie West?
Mountain was pretty much Pappalardi's design, production. After that, there was West, Bruce and Lang for ~ 1 yr, and they just jammed.
Beyond that, ups and downs for his career mostly tied into health and substance problems. Long time collaborator in drummer Corky Lang.

But true to the extent, as someone else put it, "a band is not a democracy."

Zakk is another one I read about wanting total control of all of Ozzys as well as his own BLS material.
BLS understandably but he's been at the reigns of the Oz mans last few albums and honestly they were Very below Avg at best.

I cant really begrudge EVH too much after all it was his insight that started the whole VH thing in the first place and his name is at stake as well.

Ted Nugent was such a douche control freak that he wouldnt allow spots on St Holmes or any other band mates for that matter. He did a fair bit of belittleing his musicians as well.

A guy none talk about whom was also a total control freak was Randy Bachman
I saw a documentary on CBC about him and he made the BTO group go straight too and from each gig too their rooms with no exceptions,partying,etc.. This went on for a couple tours until CF Turner said F this.
He also paid his brothers bottom scale musician fees and never allowed them equal royalties for any of the songs.
It's cut throat out there in the music biz.
