    Anyone remember this?

    The first eps!

The “Heavy Metal” eps with Gary Moore and Ian Paice!

Produced by the BBC and shown on PBS in the USA this was the best tv series for musicians in the 80s. Showed the gear, covered the genres, had interviews with cool guests (Gary Moore, Tony Banks, Herbie Hancock, Bootsy Collins, etc...) , and then there was the house band of Brit session pros giving lessons and jamming out.

Here’s two YT playlists with all the episodes:

Oh heck yeah, found it one hot summer day on my local Public TV station. It was on mid afternoon (IIRC).

The Gray Moore segment was great!

At the office and so I can see the vids but I loved Rock School. I had just started playing when it was aired. There was a guitarist talking about how hitting an E on the 5th fret of the b string is different than hitting the E at 9th fret of the G string. It's the same note but the tone is different. Blew my mind! I think it was Gary Moore who stated that. I remember him being on.

I remember the "Heavy Metal" episode and the Bass player saying something along the lines of, "If your a one finger Bass player you'll do well in HM". Yeah? Tell that to Steve Harris, Cliff Burton, Geezer Butler, Alex Webster, Steve DiGiorgio, etc.
