DAMN can this guy play. I mean holy smoke stacks can he play. Next to Benson, probably the best jazz player out there right now. Totally original style, chops master, taste, feel, and an interesting composer as well. I flat out love this guy! If you want to feel like breaking your guitar into little pieces, this is a great DVD to pick up! :bitch

I spent the summer of '75 sharing the main stage at Great Adventure Park in New Jersey with Rodney. Our bands alternated sets all day long and he was smokin even then! He played a single pickup Gibson archtop like an L5 into a Twin Reverb and sounded great!

Cool DVD! - Nice mix of fast slow, funk, blues grooves. Very Notey player (note-y? he plays a lot of notes), but it totally works for him. Getting lots of inspiration from this now.

Bobby Broom. I like Rodney a lot, but BB is worthy of consideration as "best out there right now."

Can't agree more on Bobby Broom! His sense of time and the way he sits behind the beat is unbelievable. The Deep Blue Organ Trio DVD is a must have.
