I have a Cube 20 and it accepts dirt pedals and multi-FX units well on the JC Clean channel.

Works fine on mine. I use the black panel, jazz chorus or brit combo (gain set low) depending on the guitar and my mood.

I gig one a lot. Of course I am probably wrong.

Due to a few factors primarily related to convenience a Roland Cube 30x and a Line 6 M9 is my goto rig when playing out of the home. It sounds a little "digital" on its own but in the mix it works well. I've had the best luck using the JC Clean setting followed by the Brit setting with the gain set low. I find the Black Panel setting to sound too thin.
