Anybody using the Roland GR-20 guitar synth?
Thoughts or comments?
I've had one in my rig for a couple of years. Comes in handy sometimes and is easy to set up, just like a regular effect, fits in guitar case too.
Sax, strings and piano mainly.
Use it a lot for orchestral midi mapping in the studio too.
I use it quite a bit ..
It has eliminated the use of a keyboard player since
I can sustain a patch tone with my foot using the hold function ...
However, I never the use the sax or piano settings,
but mostly the key pads, strings & such ...
(though the Trombone is excellent ...)
Check out my soundclick page, read the details to certain songs
& you can see where I use it ...

I have a GR20 inbound.
I would like to mount the GK3 to my EBMM Axis Super Sport but I'm not sure if the pickup bracket will accomodate it or not.
If not I'll be mounting it to my Les Paul.
Anyone have any advice?
I have the GK3 on my musicman Van halen, no problems.
here's some demos of it with an acoustic:
comes in handy as I mentioned before.
I have one. I like it. I can amaze my family and friends with it.
Has anyone had any experience using this as a midi interface with notation programs (Finale, Sibelius, etc...)?
