Roland VAD306 V Drums Acoustic

These just came out and a bit of a long shot but anyone tried these new units or any thoughts on them? Thx.

They sound pretty good, but that's just the module. Are they also claiming to have improved the triggering with the big shells? Are the shells acoustically louder?

For now, I'll just stick with my mesh heads.

Haven't played these.
I had the $5000 TD-50 kit.
Pretty decent once you got everything dialed-in and adjusted.
For whatever reason, Roland has a lot of processing (transient shaping/etc) turned on in the presets.
IMO, This can make the TD-50 sound less real/authentic.
Once dialed down, the TD-50 sounds a whole lot better.
The new USB Ride trigger is pretty nice.
The USB Snare trigger to me felt a little too dead with the dual-ply mesh head (vs a real snare drum).
