...I have the JM Rolph "64's" in my 66 CAR strat body...It is refered to locally as "The reference Strat". You need look no further than JM rolph...He knows more about Fender and gibson pickups than anyone I've ever met...In 15 years as a guitar dealer/player. I have his pickups in all of my gig guitars.

I just put a Lollar Blackface in my Squier 51. It sounds really really good. I asked for the tweed but with my amps, a 64 Fender Deluxe and a 65 Fender Bassman, Jason thought the tweeds might be to bright in the neck position. So he suggested the Balckface. He was right, this pickup kills. Haven't heard the Rolphs myself, but I have only seen good stuff written about them. I have several Lollar P90's. IMHO Lollar just nails good tone so I don't think I need to look anywhere else. He is very good to deal with as well.

...Let's see...51 Tele pu's for my mutant 51 tele...WOW! 56 neck and middle + a 51 Tele bridge for my Stratotele(Strat body) I can't leave this guitar at home...Its become my main gig guitar(the best of both worlds. Tele bridge PU kick with great in between positions and a fat middle and neck PU sound. 73 mutant Strat with Rolph 63's(very Jimi)...55 Strat PU's for my parts super light Mary Kay(the tone of Buddy Guy's early period). PAF's for the McCarty and R9(the McCarty had a greatset of real PAF's in it...The Rolphs replaced them...They were better!). It's a real hard thing to decide...which goes to the gig...they all sound amazing. ****Don't try this at home****
