Man, I got into this guy way later in my life than I should have, but I just can't get enough of this stuff.

This live recording is just on fire. Such a wonderful sound and playing.

The more I listen to him, the more blown away I am. The guy was such a freaking monster. I'm not even a HUGE blues guy, but something about this style - the whole package. It just works so beautifully.

    I'm so bloody inspired.

Rory was 1 of a kind... In Ireland at his height of success he was more popular than U2 over there....
His tone is a great example of what you can do with a Treble Booster.......

Rory is the reason I play a Strat - period. Incredible player who always has great tone. My favorite tone of his is on his Top Priority recording. For anyone who feels a Strats bridge pickup is too thin and weak, you need to spend some time watching & listening to Rory!

Great musician and a fantastic performer. Gone way, way to early.

Had the honor of seeing Rory Gallagher four times ! Amazing talent ! One of the best raw hard rock Strat sounds, incredible voice, great slide guitar playing and he made it all look so easy. Oh yes he always had an AC30 paired with Marshall combos (JMP) or a Fender bassman 4 x 10 reissue. A very humble dude as well . Miss him.

Dude was a force of nature.

Tone was awesome too - AC30 with Tweed Fender (and Rangemaster) on Irish Tour.

I gave it a rough shot with what I have at home a few months back:

Yep. When I found him it changed my mind about a lot of things.

And without Rory no Brian May as we know him and his tone.

    Rory and Roy Buchanan.

Both of those two are probably my tops.

I’d go so far as to say Roy Buchanan was probably a cut above all those mentioned here & I don’t mean to disrespect anyone of those great players.

Roy was something else IMHO & unfortunately a troubled soul, like so many other brilliant individuals throughout History.

    RIP all of them.

Roy was on a higher level than most for sure.

Rory was as well to me.

Maybe not the same plane but kindred tortured souls in my mind.

Fortunately I had an older brother that introduced me to anything that was new back in the day. Rory was one.
    Just amazing playing and tone.
