thought this was hilarious, and quite insightful
That was epic!
I could watch him carve up stuffy presenters for hours! He's certainly a helluva lot smarter than most give him credit for.
The chick in the blue dress wants to schtupp him.
"take that ring off it means nothing to ya!"
I can't believe that chick in the blue dress is a real host. Unprofessional beyond belief. Amateur.
Russell Brand is a bit of a love hate for me, but I loved that. I tend to love him more in the loose riffing times.
When he first appeared (I think on MTV quite a few years ago), I couldn't stand him. And just didn't get his style of humor. I thought it was bizarre.
Over the years, I've really come to enjoy what he does. He has a very refreshing style.
They got owned.
True that! And he did it without been insulting or condescending in any way. Love that! What a quick wit. Reminded of Robin Williams at times.
say what you will, but RB is about as quick and witty as they come in this type of setting...he has such obvious high intellect and incredible command of the English language...i'm a fan...
ps: agreed that she had zero idea what was going on and had no concept of how to roll with his tangents...obvious that she is a talking head and has no idea what to say without the teleprompter...
Yeah I think he can go too far (going for the shock laugh) but didn't, "He stayed classy San Diego".
Katy Perry obviously has a thing for intelligent men.
"You're ovulating!"...."Who IS Joe???"
This is my take on him as well. Really sharp dude and not constrained by convention. He has a show (Brand X) on FX that's pretty fun to watch some times.
Watch his screen test for "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". Absolutely brilliant off the cuff comedy.
Huge RB fan. His autobiographies were awesome too.
He's hilarious. They had no idea what to do with him and he used that to make the whole segment funny and entertaining.
As others alluded to, the anchors really came off as unprepared tools yet Brand had class, wit and charm.
Come to think of it, he must have to be prepared to take over such interviews because these anchor-types are such dimwitted robots.
It's actually a great ad for his show.
Who's interviewing him, Kellie Pickler?
I dont get the show he is on , it's a news show hosted by morons ?
They were so rude to him! I couldn't believe it when they started talking about him like he wasn't there. Do they treat everybody who comes on the show like that?
I have never seen that show, so am not familiar with the hosts. They were absolutely unprepared for any sort of interview and he wisely took it over. The woman in the blue dress seemed like a flustered schoolgirl.
I've seen some of his stand-up and found it bland and forced; I've not read anything of his or seen him act in a movie. I know nothing of him other than pop culture stuff like he is a comic from the UK that was married to Katy Perry for a spell.
His point about being referred to in the third tense as he sat right there as if he wasn't there was spot on and good on him for making it a point to note they were rude to do that repeatedly.
I enjoyed that segment because of what he did and how he did it.
