    Hey guys,

I'm looking for a really heavy rythm distortion pedal for my board. Im using a classic 50 as an amp. I had a keeley modded ds-1 but I am now looking into 2 main pedals....the MI audio Tube zone and maxon sd-9. If any of you guys own these do you think they are good for very high gain rythm leads? (mainly power chord work...i have the bb preamp for my jazz chords). Would distortion pedal would you recommend for high gain stuff a la tool and NIN. Thanks for any input.

just use a big muff;) I know its not "distortion", its fuzz. I love the sound of it for rhythm when playing power chords and stuff like that.

    Hey franklin,

Is it the analog man super mod for your SD-9?.

What kind of sound is it? Do you have clips? Can you compare to a band?

    Thanks.

how much gain does the Big "D" have? I need a lot of gain for the pedal Im looking for. Not worried about lead tone, strictly rythm ( I have my BB and RC for leads). Thanks.

Can you use this with an overdriven amp with decent results, or does it need to see a clean amp? I have a Fender style Allen that I run with some hair around the edges.

I have heard good things about the Tube Zone (I asked a similar question recently). I never did find a used one though.

    Thanks.

I use a Menatone Blue Collar for distorted rhythm tones. It's worth checking out.
