Santana - Flor de Luna

Been a Santana fan for a long time, but never heard this track until recently.

What a beautiful melody. Would this be considered Jazz? Flamenco? I have Santana's CDs, most of them...Just wondering, any other songs/artists in the vein.

Also, some f the images in the video would make a bad-a$$ tattoo.

That's off Moonflower. I love that album. Just basic Latin flavored music.

Great tune, and my favorite Carlos album. Love the singer and high energy band on this LP. A good mix between rock jams and pop.

Thanks for reminding, that's a favourite of mine.
For the style - the 40s and 50s were full of similar tunes, it was just dance music.
The Santana tune is a perfect "style copy" of "Petite Fleur" by Sidney Bechet.
Since the original is horrible to listen to (the player has a vibrato that makes me sick), here's a sucessful cover version from the 60s, I guess.
