The best (in my experience). And a great guy...

For all the horror builder stories showing up lately, I feel very lucky that of the custom builds I have had two have been with Saul. flawless experiences each time - one took longer than planned but lots of fore-warning, lots of updates, lots of pics, and no broken promises. And spectacular guitars each time.

There was a video floating around of an interview with Saul. His passion for building is clearly evident. My impression is that he is a class act.

@Saul Koll is the man! I have two VERY special guitars currently in the early stages of being crafted by Saul. Here is a couple of teaser videos from Saul on Instagram:

Once we get a little further down the road I will start my own build thread on them.

His brother is an artist, for real.

Saul is one of my favorite people, ever. I'm especially happy to have introduced him to my brother Jon, who lives part-time in Portland and has become an increasingly regular client of Saul's as well as a good friend.

Saul is a super great dude, a top tier luthier, and all around cultural hero. He's built some super amazing and notable guitars for me and others, and I miss mine daily. I am excited for the time when I can put another order in. Been silent on the TGP side for a bit, and having more Koll here is a welcome thing. Here are some photos of some of the Kolls that have passed through my life. They make great music.

I love Koll the guitar builder and Saul the awesome dude. I LOVE it when he goes off on a tangent and crafts all kinds of bespoke details...I think of his designs as alternate-reality classics. I love his sense of adventure and willingness to go to any length to realize an idea.

Mr. Bling, Goldy, whatever you want to name it is an amazing guitar. I always thought Mr. Pink begged to be a semi hollow arch top or a carve top, and Saul made it happen. It is also the first with the slotted headstock design. Two Lollar gold foils and a Vintage Vibe CC middle with Saul's custom housing. Lots of detail is available at the following threads.

Every guitar Saul builds is functional work of art IMO. His designs are so fresh, yet familiar. They all sound great and play equally good. Attention to details is often mind boggling.
He will tackle almost every possible task and meaningful request when building custom guitar. He’ll move mountains to deliver instrument that is made for a lifetime.
He is The Man, The Legend and one of nicest human beings I have ever met.
I am honored and proud to call him a friend!
Here are my two custom Kolls in action:

You know, @Furilla, the one that I miss the most right now is the hollow tornado with the skyway and the throbaks. That was a beautiful thing!
