Saw Joshua Redman last night...

and it was unfreaking believable. Saw him at the Bistro in St. Louis to a crowd of 40-50. Makes me want to go practice for hours on end now. Talk about influence from another instrument, I could take one of his solos last night and get licks for the rest of my career.

The bass player (god forgive me I can't remember his name) was just killer...unbelievable phrasing and original ideas. The band hung out afterwards and some buddies of mine and I chatted Redman up for a little bit...super nice guy. If u get a chance to check him out this tour, I highly suggest it.

He was sporting the acoustic trio format last night...very exposed and honest. Joshua is still miles ahead of every modern sax player I've heard.

Josh is amazing. That band he had w/ Blade, Mehldau, and McBride was simply UNBELIEVABLE. I still regularly watch the live clips from that band on youtube.......
