Scored a Ludwig Acrolite snare at at garage sale!

    Been looking for one of these for several years, ever since I had one absolutely smoke a $600 Nobel and Cooley. It's a really great all-around snare. It always sounds "right" and can be easily EQ'd to fit the song.

    There's no garage sales around here in winter, so this was s fluke, but I stopped. Got the drum, case, stand, muting head, practice pad and one stick for $10! Excellent plus condition, original head w/almost no wear...

    They're not super rare or collectible, they run about $125-150 on E-Bay, but I didn't want to pay that much.

    The Acrolite is a great drum at any price. I have a few high end snares, (Sonor, Ayotte) and the lowly Acro doesn't give up much to them. (they don't sound like a good Ludwig) Mine is my first snare, a '71. Congrats.
