I bought these today of a really nice old guy. Both are hardly played with manuals etc, even the keys to the cases.

    First is a 1969 es 335
The second a 66 jazzmaster. Both are in amazing condition and sound incredible.

I assume you probably got a pretty good deal since you took 'em both?

Neither were bargains. The guy I bought from knew his stuff. I paid $7,500 for both which is big cash. However they are both near mint with tags and everything. Completely untouched with almost no play time. Also they sound amazing, particularily the 335. It has no volute or no made in USA stamp. It has a fantastic four latch lifton case. The jazzmaster is stamped ES in the body which meant it was a special order. I haven't worked why yet.

I imagine a dealer would sell them for a couple of grand more. I also checked past ebay sales and similar 335 seemed to go for 4,000 to 4,500 but no where near the condition of this one. Jazzmasters seemed to be 3,500 to 4,000 again not in this condition.

Lastly with these guys I know their history and I am only the second owner.

Overall I am happy, especially when I strap one on!

Congrats on a great deal. If you can manage to keep 'em who knows how high they'll go. Last year I dumped my '59 LP Jr., which I paid $700 about 17 years ago (a lot of $ back then), for $10,000 in trade. Hang in there!!

Wish I met that really nice old guy first! And IMO $7500 for both is a very good deal for you, especially in that condition. Exponential mojo fer sure!
