Scumbag Speakers

I just wired a set of Scumbag's SA-12h 75 spekers into my 2x12 cab. Very impresive Celestion H clone that is miles above the regular Celestion/Eminence speaker. For my Route 66, they are the perfect speakers. Before I had two cabinets: one with Greenbacks and one with Red Fangs. Both are on the auction block, and I will not be buying another speaker for a long time.

"Knock, knock...Satan calling... kiss your old inferior speakers goodbye!"

Could resist quoting Big Mike. Glad those H75's are a hit with you. Did they come with labels or do I owe you a pair? Lemme know. Thanks for the nice comments.

I'm not a techno guy, but I needed a 12 incher to put in a Bob Burt 1x12 to run with a 30w Aiken Intruder.

I got a H75 HP from Jim for the BB cab and have to say that this speaker sounded great right out of the box. I know that speaker tones are largely subjective, but you gotta love the sounds this thing produces.

BTW, the bass response is excellent with the 75, I haven't heard a 55 and I assume it has a little more fatness.

Great speaker, well worth the money.

Jim, are there any Scumbag amps in GA that I might demo?

Clark, no, there arent' any that I know of. I was just out to Greensboro, NC for the "Les Paul Jam & Tone Conference" hosted by Jimmy Murray. The "Bag" was pretty well received there, though.

Action Music in Arlington, VA is a dealer, and Revolution Guitar here in LA has asked to become one, but that's it.

My next goal is to build a demo amp to send to people to try out. The idea is to build a 2x12 combo or just a head, put it in a road case, and send it out to prospective buyers.

The prospective buyer would pay a full deposit, plus shipping fees. If they like it, they can buy the demo or have one built for them. If not, they can ship the amp back, pay only the shipping fees, and I refund their money. Still not the cheapest option, but I did ship a 2x12 combo in it's road case from NC to California for $49 each way, so it's an option to try out.

Also, it has the advantage of being able to take it to play with your group, or in your studio or whatever, and check it out at your leisure. Hope to implement that next year. I already bought the road cases, so that seemed an obvious extension to the idea.

Thanks for your interest in the amp, though!

Seriously, I'm a HUGE fan of Jim's work, these speakers make everything else sound like junk.

You rock Jim!!!

I agree with this post. The Scumbags I tried were truly ahead of any Emi Redcoat series I have yet to try. That being said, I'm going to stick with my G12 RI's for the moment due to economic circumstances related to a recent gear (amp) purchase.:D
