Played a 101 Reverb thru the Quilter 1x12 demo cab at GC yesterday. I must say, I rather enjoyed it. Played a Gibson LP Special with P90s. What a great combination.

Pulled the trigger. I'm planning on using it with my modeler board (HXS) into a cab, a backup for my tube amps and if it works out a replacement for my tube amps. I'm mostly a pedal player so I'm looking forward to it.

Would this work for a bass amp?
    Asking for a friend...

But the new TB202 seems so much better! FRFR toggle switch has me sold on the 202 down the road.

I loved my original 200. Great pedal platform and modeler platform. Then I went full FRFR and sold it and my only cab. Now I wish I had them all back but at this point might as well hold off for the 202.

So, how much better is this really than something like a Crate Powerblock? Speaking primarily for a backup to a tube amp on gigs.

I don't know anyone who has tried it. They do make bass versions of some of their Toneblock amps, but I also think I've seen people use guitar amps through bass cabinets for their bass and it sounded just fine.

I briefly had the 101 and didn’t like the way the tone controls were set up.

It isn’t “neutral” (not meant to be)

Great amp at a great deal. Loves OD pedals. The EQ really isnt an issue, its two knobs, people.

I should clarify...I was trying to use it with an HX Stomp.
Bypassing the input gain also bypassed the EQ controls I wanted.

My nephew toured and says a lot of semi big names use Quilter tiny amps straight into the PA.

Thanks...dont get me wrong the Powerblock is surprisingly good sounding with the right pedals and cabinet.

I use the power block as my main (power) amp with Helix, and I think it sounds great!

Ordered one today. Now I'm on a cab search. I'm leaning towards a DV Mark 2x12

I have the Quilter 101 as a backup amp... My main tube amp is a Dr Z Z-Lux (great amp!) And have spent a lot of time tweaking my sound to get how I want it.. I live in WSFlorida- off half our gigs are outdoors and there are some gigs where I don't want to bring an expensive tube and chance getting rain. I have been using the Quilter with a Celestion Classic lead with my pedal board. I am truly amazed how good the Quilter sounds. While I can't see it replacing my tube amps (I'm too old school for that) but I am very happy with the sound of the Quilter. I have toyed around with the idea of buying one of Quilter combo amps down the road.-- If one of the combos shows up on the SDOTD, I will probably buy one. Very impressed with their stuff!

FYI I had accumulated enough cash back points with Musicians "Fiend" - my points covered the cost of the Quilter 101 except for 10 cents

Those cabs are so light you need to start thinking about skipping outdoor gigs on windy days.

MF switched to the MicroBlock 45 for $99....got one to keep in the gigbag as a backup to my ancient bassman.
At that price, how could you go wrong?
