I want to use it as a midi tap tempo for my Moog Sub37 and then out to my MF-104Msd. Which would work better for that application?

    Oh, and I'm fairly midi-stupid.

    Thanks!

I am loving my SMARTClock. Simple, intuitive, midi clock all stuffed in one. I wished I had gotten a Quartz at first, but I've set the SMARTClock to only have 7 tempos, so jumping through them is quick, and I organize them per set. For me, that's a bit easier for now. I also love that it accepts midi clock in, so I can run it op connected to our Ableton click as well and have literally no presets as well...

Is there any reason either wouldn't work with a synth?

I have the Quartz. So nice to be able to see the name of the presets. And the Setlist mode is so practical. I'm glad I have the Quartz instead of the SMARTClock. And it's cheaper to here in Australia.

The Quartz seems to win on functionality. But the SMARTClock is a lot easier to look at. If I got the quartz, I might have to cover it in masking tape.

Weird. I love the looks of the Quartz, not so much the smartclock.

Aside from the second screen, is there anything that one of these two pedals can do that the other can't?

I love my Quartz Timer. The thing is just so easy to set up and use. I have no experience with the SMARTCLOCK, but I can tell you that everyone who uses my board wants that Quartz Timer. It is a tiny footprint on your board with a huge level of functionality and use.
