I have an old Roland unit that needs repair. I contacted Roland. They gave me a couple of options, one of which is to to ship the unit to their own Roland facility in Ontario, Canada. Has anyone ever shipped a pedal to Canada for repair (or otherwise)? Will I have to fill out customs forms and the like? Thanks.

I live in Canada and have had lots of stuff shipped here from
    the States.
Use USPS and mark item as being shipped for warranty repair.
Courier services charge a hefty fee for shipping from U.S.
    to Canada.
I learned that once the hard way.
    Never again.
If Roland ships it back to you as a repaired product, there shouldn't be any
    customs fees

Can't help you with the Customs stuff but I can say that the Burnaby Roland service centre was excellent on two different occasions. Fast with quick turnaround, affordable and great communications.

According to sellers that only ship within the lower 48, unimaginable terrors awaits your package.

Have you ever seen a pedal when it hits the Canadian border and is
mauled by one of the Polar bears who frequent said border all across our nation.
    I witnessed that..
The postman didn't fare too well either.
Can,t be sure if he was pre or post pedal.

Not to worry, acceding to a buyer's request to lie about gear's value on the custom form is not a factor here. ;)

    Thanks again, everyone!

I find the taxes to be no where close to as bad as the duties and brokerage.

Give me NAFTA qualifying items shipped with USPS and I'm happy.

Though our dollar is turd right now.

This is Roland, not King Bee, Quinn, or High Test. They'll fix anything they've ever made. ;)
