    Hi Guys -

It has come to my attention that some incorrect information about my unit the Klon KTR has recently appeared online.

Let me address three specific things that have appeared in one particular place:

    1. “. . . the new Asian-made version of the Centaur called the Klon KTR Overdrive”. Fact: since the beginning of KTR production in 2012, every single KTR unit produced has been manufactured here in the U.S., and my intention – barring anything unforeseen – is to continue with U.S. production of the KTR.

    2. “. . . the KTR suffered from poor quality control . . .” Fact: the units from the initial 2012 production run (a little over 1400 units) have been extremely reliable. I have encountered QC problems with the unit much more recently, but these are being analyzed and addressed right now, and I’m confident that they will be eliminated.

    3. “[continued from above] . . . and Bill Finnegan soon pulled it from the market to find a new builder to work with.” Fact: I have never pulled the unit from the market; all manufacturing firms – including the electronics contract manufacturers who can produce effect pedals, of course – have lead times, and for obvious reasons the better ones tend to have longer lead times. The reasons I was unable to have the firm that produced that initial run of about 1400 units continue to build them had absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the units they had built.

As always, if any of you want my own take on the KTR - or indeed on anything Klon-related – please feel free to call me at 617-666-1551 (weekday mornings Eastern Time are usually best) or email me at info@klon-siberia.com.

    Take care,
    Bill Finnegan

Man, this guy deserves some love...no matter ones thoughts on the Klon, Bill has been a very courteous guy and you know he's seen some of the outrageous crap people have said about him/it.

Thanks, Bill. I read that article and was wondering about some of those claims.

BTW, my KTR from the most recent batch is awesome!
