Obviously, people can say that I am biased given that my store retails the KTR's, but Bill has always been a good dude to deal with and he has a wealth of knowledge and a good sense of humour. We like alot of the same bands and I always really enjoy talking to him about any number of subjects. Business-wise all has been smooth.

The way he is regarded negatively by so many internet folks esp. GP members is a travesty. Honestly, It seems like high school level douchebaggery brought on mostly by jealousy/pettiness. He is a person, not a corporation. I highly doubt that he has done anything to deserve such scorn from folks who have never even met the guy. Has he never pissed anyone off in his life? I dunno, Have any of us never pissed anyone off in our lives?

We have sold a tonne of KTR pedals up here and the list of pro and semi-pro guys that we have sold them to, and who swear by them, is really long. Fact is, very few of these regularly gigging/sessioning players have any idea about the drama that surrounds the pedal, they just dig what it does for their guitar tone.

At this point, I like to think I have a pretty decent ear for guitar tone and nothing else we sell and nothing else (Klon clone-wise) we have had come thru' here in trade sounds quite like the Klon. Bottom line for me is not whether a product sells. It has to be a great product and my opinion is that the KTR is a great product.

But... Bill didn't address the BIG question...

Does the KTR sound like an original Klon?

I think he has addressed that via some video demos and so on, but as much as i dig/dug the centaur, I really think the KTR takes it slightly further. To my ears you can access a slightly higher treble range with the KTR, so it is maybe more useful with Non-master Marshalls and other such amps that sound great when you hammer their inputs with higher frequency boost.

maybe the stories are perhaps exaggerated, or maybe those qualities in Bill are why his pedals do what they do.

Would love to see this addressed by the man himself.
I have a KTR (and multiple Klones), been pondering springing for an original if I can find one at the right price though.

It is Bill talking in this video. Pretty adequately addressed within the 35 or so minutes of the Video. :)

    Yeah, that's a great scene.

So, are you also a fan of Black Velvet Flag?

Lounge-punk. Now there's a sub-genre that could use more Klon.

You've "heard too many stories....." Hell, that's hearsay. It's not like facts that came out months ago about someone who lied to everyone including you after building up his business.

Bill F. Is the OP and flat out spoke the truth about his product to debunk hearsay and BS. He didn't mislead anyone and therefore didn't have to have people apologize for him not have an endorser speak on his behalf.
