I have a chance to get a Sewell Blistertone 35 for about $900. I haven't picked it up from a friend, but I'm getting it in my hands tomorrow morning to play for a coupla days.

    Is $900 a fair price?

It's basically brand new, he just needs to move some gear.

Also, what is a good price for a Texas-something-or-other 25?

I might have a shot at one of those.

    Thanks,

    Bob

I think it's a very good price! I have a Texaplex and a Texaverb. Doug Sewell makes great amps IMO!

I heard the same thing. Not sure if it is a done deal, but I heard it was. He's supposed to be designing/building the new PRS amps, or so I heard.

Anyone else heard or own one of these? I'd appreciate some thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Bob

Hey man, I recently got a chance to spend time with a Blistertone and was blown away. Fantastic amp, as is the Texaverb. Great price, you'll be happy.

    Fantastic price!

And a killer amp. I'd still have my Blistertone if hadn't lived in an apartment when I owned it (a bit too loud for that scenario---even with the excellent master volume).

I still have my Texaverb 25, though, and it's just an awesome blackface inspired amp.

I love Doug's amps. Between Doug and Ben Fargen, my tonal needs are covered.

I'd say $900 is a steal! A buddy has one, and it is a tone machine.

Doug makes great amps - that price sounds great to me.

    Thanks, Dana O.

Thanks for all the feedback. I didn't buy it, a buddy did. I will have it in my hands for a few weeks. I'll give a tone report when I get it.

    Which one did you buy?
I'll take the other one for the $900! :)
