1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

    fairly similar.....same idea, same concept and goal.

    random thoughts,
    SD=cleaner
    RC=cool eq
    SD=adds a ....sheen, or an enhancing hi-fi quality.
    SD=subliminal compression....(is it even on?)
    RC=more gain (which is not much) than the SD
    SD=more clean headroom....more boost
    Both work great "on all the time"
    SD=blindingly bright LED
    RC=could not dial out the gain and still get enough boost

    Both are stellar, quality boosts,
    I sold the RC (and a klon) and
    kept the Sex Drive.

    I play through a early 60's fender bassman. Will the sex drive give my amp a little hair for blues? How well will it stack with my Honey bee or Eternity?

    Has anyone compared the Sex Drive to the Zvex Super Duper 2 in 1? I love the zvex but the noise is starting to get to me - the Sex Drive seems like a good alternative

    I really, really liked the Sexdrive but found it just a little shrill on a Tele bridge pickup which is what I use most of the time with my particular amp rig.

    I found that I could dial that out better with the RC.

    The Sexdrive is a bit more 'Texas' and has a fantastic vibe to it. If I was using strat neck pickups or 'buckers, or a more driven amp tone I probably would have gone the other way.

    I must try one again just to make sure!

    I bought both, and kept the RC, the SD was just kinda blah with my rig (tele and Matchless). The RC just has a cool quality to it, almost everyone I know that has one keeps it on all the time. :AOK

    I would say the RC for this application.

    I also sold a Super Hard On, kept the Sex Drive, while the zvex
    provided "zing and sizzle", the SD had more charecter, body and
    clean....boost, for me. Different pedals for sure. The zvex tightens
    and focuses, while the SD adds oomph.
