I have an SD Twang Banger on the way. I know I will have to reverse the leads to get it play with the other pickups in my strat, (I currently have an SSL-5 in the bridge and had to reverse the leads on this so assume the polarity of the Twang Banger will be the same).

Does anyone know if there any 'complications' caused by the base plate which I think should be earthed, i.e. does the pick up baseplate need rewiring to the white lead before installation. I have read some stuff but can't find a definitive answer.

You should have to rewire the baseplate if you switch the hot and ground.

Thanks Mincer; already done; as soon as I saw it I knew the baseplate would need rewiring. Enjoying it so far, (only had it installed for an hour). Looking forward to trying it with the band.

Just an update on the SD Twang Banger: if anyone is looking to get those Ritchie Blackmore tones of Machine Head or Burn etc., then this pick up does this really well. Quite the revelation.
