    Hey All,

Have got a 3 pickup 74 SG Custom with T Tops which is a lovely plank, but the neck pickup, being as it is closer to the neck than an SG Std, can get overly wooly - wondering if anyone can suggest a good pickup to replace it with, something with a nice, open tone but fairly light on the bass frequencies. Am even considering a P-90 in there, but keen to keep it in 'bucker territory if possible (have got a nice LP for P-90 tones if required anyway). Playing through JTM 45 and Victoria 35310, not so keen on modern tones.

I can highly recommend, Either a Bareknuckle, Stormy Monday, or
Mississipi Queen,(HB sized P.90), both exceptional, in the neck position of a Gibson.

Make sure you have true 500k vol and tone pots.
    - Flip pup around, but flip bar mag as well.
    - Lower the pup and raise the screws.
    - Run the wiring in parallel.
    - Delete tone pot.
    - Treble Bleed circuit to vol pot.

Flipping the pickup doesn't put it out of phase, but flipping the magnet would, which you don't want. Don't mess with those T-tops. Nice valuable pickups.
