I finally made it around to making some clips of the Helios overdrive pedal by Eric Shannon.

    GEAR:
Partscaster with Fender Custom Shop 69 pickups
Aiken Invader Mk I in "Ali" setting

    SIGNAL CHAIN:
guitar > Helios > channel 1 input > XLR direct out of amp > Presonus Firebox > MacBook Pro > Logic

    CLIP #1:
This clip is a simple chord progression. First played with Helios pedal off, so you can hear just the amp. Then, Helios on with volume at unity gain and overdrive knob off. The clip continues with the same chords played, but each new segment has only the overdrive knob increased by one quarter turn and finishes with the overdrive knob all the way up.

The clip is titled "Shannon Helios Chords"

    CLIP #2:
This clip is a simple pentatonic riff. I followed the same procedure as in Clip #1. First, Helios is off, then on, then each subsequent section has the overdrive knob increased one quarter turn.

The clip is titled "Shannon Helios Short Riff"

    CLIP #3:
This is a simple AC/DC style riff, but only uses the guitar volume knob to change the amount of overdrive. Clip starts with guitar volume knob at approx. 3 then to 6 then to 10.

The clip is titled "Shannon Helios Volume Knob"
