Here's my thinline mongrel - it's a '72 neck (looks like the finish is stripped), the neck pickup has a stamp that might appear to indicate 1972, the pickguard has a Fender sticker on the back with an '81 date stamp. Neckplate number is 371xxx (I know those can be repro's), the volume pot code is from 1967 but I've never been able to ascertain the source or date of the body and I don't know the bridge pickup source. When I bought it the price reflected the parts-caster nature of the guitar.

They love each other. I also play it through a Filmosound 385 conversion that works great with just a little compressor and Strymon Flint for reverb and tremolo.

The pedal is a Schroeder Blister Agent. They're around. He makes amps and pedals. Jeff Tweedy, Nels Cline, Andrew Bird all have this pedal. It's a transparent overdrive that goes into serious fuzz territory with some cocked wah, noise gating and a bunch of stuff. Very fun

Most wonderfully worn-out Thinline going, Tab Benoit's:

And Johny Lang used to play some great looking custom Thinlines.

Love it! Wonder how mine would look with a multi-ply guard like that.

That first one looks like it survived a fire! Wow

How do you like the mastery?

This is a '72 Thinline style that I built from Warmoth body and neck (neck is goncalo alves over goncalo alves, really a great neck wood IMO). I'm sorry I sold this one.

And here's a little song I came up with to demo the guitar:

Solo #1 is around 2:30 mark with solo #2 a couple measures after that one finishes.

Chandler, Warmoth, and other parts went in to this one I made in '89.
A lot of bolt-ons have come n gone but I kept this one.

Google Glen Hansard’s Telecaster to see one that’s worn from a few decades of use.

A lot of very cool guitars in this thread. Can’t go wrong with a Tele. And a Thinline is always boss..![IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
