Hi guys !........I'm selling a beautiful rare Black Vintage Modern and a buyer emailed me saying he's only interested in COD delivery with the Post office so I went to the Post to ask if they can do it and they can .....But!!....if the amp for some reason gets damaged , they will not refund me the shipping and COD fees back and forth so I had to decline the buyers request because of the risk !...........Or what if he changes his mind and say I don't want it anymore !?

What are your thoughts on this ?

@JKjr and Dipa,..........thats what I thought !..............maybe if he would have offered me $300 as a commitment to secure me, I'd
probably would have taken the chance but even then I don't feel it and after seeing boh your answers ,.....it will be a NO from now on !

Not a chance. But if you decide to do it, let me know. I have a line on a great opportunity that was offered to me by a Nigerian prince.

In some contexts, you expect to have your stuff before you hand over your money. In the context of private sales of guitars and amps, there is no way that the buyer should be expecting the stuff to roll up at his door before he even considers parting with his money.

Given the protections that buyers generally have from the likes of eBay, Reverb and so on, it is very much the seller's right to wait until the money is in before sending.

thats crazy as hell. its so rare it wouldnt surprise me to have the courier to forget to even request the payment. also theres a huge chance he'll have buyers remorse as soon as he sees the amp or he'll panic and claim theres something wrong w it and you'll be stuck paying 100s to ship it both ways.

theres only advantages for him and a massive amount of risk for you.

Tell him he can mail you money orders and that it is just as safe and secure as his method.
