Anybody have any recommendations on how to have a couple guitars shipped from Germany to the US? I'd like something insured and trackable without breaking the bank. Thoughts?

I'd use DHL, that's the standard shipping service here in Germany. The prices are reasonable, and depending on the weight. There's a price up to 5kg, and one for up to 10kg. A guitar with HSC might be more than 5kg…

You'll find the detailed infos here: DHL

The "Paket international" to USA (Zone 3) is 36 Euro (5kg) or 47 Euro (10kg). Using the "Premium" option (a little bit faster, plus insurance for up to 500 Euro) makes the prices 54 Euro (5kg) or 83 Euro (10kg). The box dimesions are limited to 120 cm x 60 cm x 60 cm in all cases, but that's more than sufficient for a guitar.
