I'm in Canada and have had guitars shipped to me during the winter from warmer climates. As long as it's packed well and you let the package warm up for a good while before you open it, you should be fine. Typical recommendation is to wait 24 hrs before opening the package, but I've waited less.

I usually take the case out of the box and let it sit for about 4 or 5 hours before opening the case. I've never had a problem. As long as it doesn't warm up too fast, it should be fine.

Paint damage is caused by extreme changes in temp, not the temp itself.

Let is sit in the box a few hours inside, then take the case out of the box and let it sit a few hours, not near a heat source. 10-12 hours and you should be ok.
