I just got my Bogner El34 Shiva in today.
Bought it off one of the faithful.

WHY WOULD ANYBODY SELL ONE OF THESE???:dude

Anyway, for me it's really singing - though I like it much
    better with strats than LPs.
    (Could be the settings!)

Speaking of settings, I didn't get a manual.
    Any links on suggested settings?

This thing really reveals every picked sound and I'm just beginning to explore the possibilities.

What do you like about it?

What styles are you playing? What tones does it cop?

All I can say is, I sure loved mine (I owned 3 of them over the years). For rock, it is the perfect amp.

I used H/H humbucker/humbucker guitars at the time I owned mine and simply set all the tone knobs straight up; gain for the OD channel at 3 o'clock and masters to taste.

That is a very bold statement!

What recorded examples can we get on this?

Whether it's your style or not, I don't know, but I have several Shiva demo's up at my website.

I have a modded Shiva that I just love. Way different than the stock model. I a/b it with an OD 100 and the Shiva blew it away.

Well part of what I like about it is on Bob's web site!
Bob, is it just me or do the Classic Lead 80s beat out the other cab combinations. A little less break than the greenbacks, but great dynamic range and some suprising mid range clarity.

I haven't listened to those in a long time, but for my taste as I recall, the H30 and V30 were my fav's, then the CL80, greenback and 75. The GB and 75 could go either way, as I don't like the GB with the Shiva.

No I dont have Steves. Mine has whats called the Japan Mod. it has alot more gain and is much tighter. It has a bright switch for the lead channel and a deep knob in the back to really give the power amp more bass. Its an amazing amp, my favorite out of all the Bogners and I ve had them all.

I saw the new re-designed Shiva at NAMM and it had bright switches on both channels:AOK

    Call Bogner....

Enjoy your amp. I loved mine, sold it when I got my Ecstacy, then sold that when I got my Aiken Sabre, then sold that when...

Agree with Bob Savage - the greenbacks farted out with the Shiva.

Not without the HCAF mod. But that mod is weak. I would leave it stock otherwise it will sound like everything BUT an amp.

I set mine with gain on lead channel around 10 or 11 oclock, depending on guitar. That way I can control the tone by how hard I dig in. Then I just either a fat boost, or Tube Screamer if I want a more liquid lead.

Master around 11oclock, vols to taste.

Congrats, I love these amps ... just came back to one myself after 3 years of fruitless search for a replacement.

    SHIVA MANUAL:

    http://www.bogneramplification.com

    Go to products
    Go To Amplifiers
    Select Shiva
At the bottom of the Shiva page is a link to the manual.

I just received my new Shiva with the Boost Mod ... I loved them before, but this gives me the 'three' channel amp I was hoping for. The volume for the boost gets crazy loud if you want ... my leads will definately be out in front of the band from now on. :AOK
