I have a nice early 90's LP Studio I found on CL that came with a gig bag. Using a gig bag with a LP, even around the house scares me so I'm looking for an inexpensive hard case.

Anyone try a ChromaCast brand? I never heard of them. Maybe a new brand? They look pretty nice for the price. With my amazon prime I can get one for about $80 shipped. Good reviews on amazon too. Even a leather handle. Half the price of a standard Gibson case which are not so great anyway.

Those look ok, would be about $10 more including shipping then the one I linked from Amazon. Thanks.

Here's the one on amazon, $80 shipped..actually looks nicely padded..

Sorry to resurrect such a dead thread but people need to be warned.

ChromaCast cases are absolute ****. I bought 2 for home use. Both started falling apart weeks after I bought them. Padding coming out, stitching coming loose, hinges breaking and falling off. The neck brace is a worthless.

Both ended up going to the dump.

Never gigged them nor would I consider it.

You're better off with a gigbag.

    YMMV.

Yeah. I would just stick with this for a hundred:

When my case for my 73 SG finally fell apart I just went and bought a case for an Epiphone SG and it worked fine. Did the same for a 76 335 that I had.
I gig regularly with it and it's holding up fine.... Think I paid around $80
