Should i get a semi-hollow or electric

    i'm planning to get a new guitar for my band. i play ska music and i'm not sure which one i should get. a semi-hollow or electric. does anybody know which one i should get? i'm not going to be doing a lot of soloing.

    Well I suppose an electric. Whether it is solid body, semi-hollow body, or hollow-body is another question. I don't play ska but I a friend of mine is in a ska band and swears by semi-hollows although I think any guitar that plays nicely would work. My advice would be if you have any other guitars to get something that would complement your current instruments and add another possible tone to your arsenal.

    If you're looking for something lighter, then you might be looking for a chambered guitar. . .Then again, maybe something like a Les Paul Jr., if you're doing ska music.

    Yeah, I'd be thinking a solid strat, perhaps a hardtail.
