Should I swap my EJ Strat for an R6????

I'd have to add 1000 but I'm curious what peoples' thoughts are on the R6 vs. the Ej strat.

I currently have the maple necked 2-tone burst EJ that I don't play much. My main guitar is an R8 or a 335 and think the R6 would be the perfect compliment.

Thoughts?

1000x yes.

You will only miss the "Stevie" type tones and out of the neck pup, and maybe a bit less quack or at least quack of a different natiure, if you even go for that. Otherwise, the R6 is a way better instrument, IMO.

I don't know if you want to keep the EJ strat or not, but an EJ Strat + $1000 seems like a good deal for a used R6. I see used EJ Strats go for $1100 but I've never seen a used R6 for as low as $2100.

You answered your own question. If you have the money, go for it!

I would look for contrast not more of the same.
YMMV, of course.

At least somebody's clear on the definition of "compliment." Agreed. An R6 does have P90's, as opposed to the HB's on the others, I suppose, but aside from that, seems like it would be more redundant, rather than complimentary.

That said, buy and play whatever you dig, even if it's 10 identical, totally non-complimentary guitars.

Guy walks into a lounge and approaches the bar, "Great lookin' tie you have on" he hears but sees no one. Strange.
Next comes, "Super shoes, sir, you sure dress well." Puzzled he calls over the barkeep and tells him that he keeps hearing flattering remarks.
The bartender says, "Oh, that's just the peanuts, they're complimentary.":rimshot

I know:sarcasm....the grammar police made me post it.
Look up complementary vs complimentary.
If someone is handing out complimentary LP's, sign me up.
