I want some inspiration for my next Strat. I'm leaning towards a maple board 50's style Strat but I also wanna see some RW board 60's style ones. I know most of the colors like Fiesta Red, Sherwood Green, Surf Green, Burgundy mist etc. but I wanna see examples. Show me the rare ones! And they don't necessarily have to be Strats.

This is a sign that this thread will either stop now or get 1000 posts by tomorrow.

Dave's Guitars is a great place to browse if you never have:

Perhaps my favorite guitar is one of his. A '62, supposedly in Tahitian Coral... a color rare enough that many people doubt it's authenticity as most similarly-colored strats are faded Fiesta Red.

And not a vintage guitar, but Burgundy Mist is another favorite. This is a danocaster owned by another forum member and I plan on buying or building up something similar this year:

Some favorite colors of mine. None are mine unfortunately though, just captured off the 'net over the years:

And don't forget, black was once a 'custom color':

Neither of these are vintage, but these are my two favorite looking strats:

Surf green partscaster with a cream pickguard rather than the traditional mint:

And this was my somewhat failed attempt at doing a coral strat. I used reranch coral and this particular batch was more orange than expected. I also hit the mint green guard and the cream pickup covers with some of the amber-tinted clear nitro to try to make it look more aged:

Diggin on that Burgundy Mist. I also like Fiesta Red and Coral.

Mine is Olympic White but it's more yellow IMO. Has the mint pickguard too.

Yeah, I'd call that "more orange than expected" for pink :D ...Mind you, it looks awesome.
