Are these guitars as beautiful in person as on the website? It is absolutely stunning:
That's a nice color!
I love maple FBs and blue is my favorite color. I think it's a winner!
Coincidentally, this guy is playing one in this Boss video from this years NAMM. Come out at like 5:15
I like that they started tinting the neck. Looks real nice. Now if they could just make one WITHOUT a Floyd. Give me the brass trem! It'll stay in tune fine.
Looked cool in that vid!
Also, it appears the truss rod adjustment has been moved to the neck... some reviews mentioned it was between the neck and body...
I might have to pull the trigger on this one.
Here's my '08 USA model:
How do you like it?
Thanks. I love this guitar! The necks are perfect, and I am a fan of the pickup rings / made in the USA thing!
just to point out, that USA one is a completely different shade of blue to the one you're thinking of
Yes. Yes they are. I was hoping for more of a daphne blue at the time, but they're beautiful.
Ive got one in two halves in the top of my wardrobe awaiting tuners and a neckplate lol =)
Tuners hopefully here tomo, might use sellotape on the neck - dying to play lol
They are a very cool colour in the flesh though -quite retro
In regards to the truss rod, am I seeing a notch above the nut that would mean the access has been moved from the heel?
It may not even be a big deal, I just have no experience with heel truss rods. And I don't think I have ever adjusted mine on my strats since the initial set up about 7-8 years ago.
i think you have to remove the neck to access the truss rod
I am thinking about trying one of these beasts...I have GAS for something with a Floyd. The blue is pretty sweet looking. I also like the white. Does anyone know if the white is a metallic or not?
(don't quote me as i haven't seen them in the flesh) I think the first run of colours (white, ferrari red, black) isn't metallic while the newer run is. or "candy" as they call it.
I have a red SoCal and really dig it. Its become my main gigging guitar. Thinking of selling my trans blue Jackson Soloist in favor of another Charvel and that blue andyk posted would be perfect!
The truss rod adjustment is still on the body side. Which is the only downside I can think of concerning these guitars.
Left to right : MIJ Wildcard, MIJ SoCal, 2x USA San Dimas.
Just got my new White San Dimas yesterday! Will get pics later or tomorrow. It is gorgeous in person. It isn't metallic at all. I had to pull the neck and do a truss rod adjustment, but it plays awesome now. Killer guitar.
Nice collection Santo!
ssites, to adjust the truss, I read that you simply press the floyd all the way down and block it to slacken the strings. Unscrew the bolts of the neck, tilt it back and give the truss a turn, rescrew the neck and you're done.
Is that correct?
correct, but I just wind the strings slack before removing the bolts. Might be a little difficult holding down the floyd while trying to unscrew the neck.
