    Whatcha got?

Over that past several years, I've pretty much taken over the living room as my music room. As more of my guitars migrated up from the basement, I put them in your standard black metal & foam rack. It was functional but it was never something that added to the room nor was I fond of the poor way the guitar necks were secured. After a bit of searching, I found myself coming back to this rack from Emerald City Engineering. It looked cool and had a cool way of "grabbing" the neck to keep the instrument upright. It also has the virtue of being able to sit against a wall and not have headstocks bumping the wall.

I use one of the Fender racks. Wish it held more and was a little sturdier, but for my purposes it does a good job of keeping things accessible and safe.

Just a boring tube and foam stand, but I am proud of this 'do I own too many Les Pauls?' shot :)

I think you might need just one more.

I'm single, so I get to use guitar hangers, and have them displayed on my wall. When I get married, i'll have to put them on a guitar rack in the garage.

I built me this hangy rack, holds 12 or so. Put them a bit too close together, gotta be careful getting them in and out.

each neck sits in a padded U-shaped "neck nook" and a 4" dowel with a drawer pull on the end secures each of them in place.

You guys all make me extremely jealous. Ive been playing my one and only guitar, a fender strat for 16 years (I do love it) and am gassing so bad for a new guitar. Almost bought one a few weeks ago and then had unexpected payments come up. Im wondering at this point if I should get a Jazzmaster(vintage), Guild Starfire IV (vintage), or Les Paul next. I eventually want them all but as far as versatility Im thinking maybe the Starfire should be my second guitar.

Great looking setup...look at all those les pauls!!!

Top tip--lay down some towels on the bottom and where the necks rest. The black foam can discolor your binding. Ask me how I know this...

Some great guitars on display, but this is all about the stand ;) handmade by Scott at South Mountain Woodworks there in Emmaus, PA.

I'm worried about earthquakes, so I only take one guitar out at a time

Depends on your wife. While I have the furniture guitar rack in the living room, I still have my basement music room as well.

Those are some top notch guitar stands, too. Too rich for my blood, to be honest.
