Let's get some offset love going! Show us your Jazzmasters, Jaguars, Mustangs, Starcasters etc. - and tell us their stories.

I'll start with my 1965 Jazzmaster that I bought a couple of years ago after losing almost everything I owned in a fire. After the insurance money had come in and my desire to kill everyone had settled, I went out to look for a nice guitar and accidentally stumbled on this one. It's late '65 so it's got bindings and the vintage purists might not care but it plays like a dream and does everything you want a Jazzmaster to do. It's been my favourite guitar in the world since I got it.

Here's my '63 Jazzmaster. It's got the original Olympic White peeking out from underneath some old Sonic Blue overspray.

    the current fleet:

1966 Fender Jazzmaster - I'm the second owner of this all original '66. I will never sell. It's a stellar JM.

Here's my mustang - it's a 1974 neck (baseball bat neck. Seriously.), 60's guard and metal, Patent Pending tremolo with an original gold string retainer (from an all gold tremolo assembly), on a gold sparkle Warmoth body. Everything's old but the electronics and the body. It is KILLER.[IMG]

1966 Fender Jaguar with a black refinish
    1966 Fender Jaguar all original
1962 Fender Jazzmaster with a Danocaster black refinish

March 1966. Refinished by Gord Miller, who absolutely *nailed* the rare Teal Green Metallic. Got it stripped and in pieces (some missing) many years ago, now a great-playing mostly-correct example and I got to choose my color.

"Vintage purists" who don't like your guitar can take a hike -- dots and binding is a great combination, and that's a great Jazzmaster, period.

More to the point, as far as I'm concerned (and I think the market agrees), any 1980 or earlier Jazzmaster is "vintage" and desirable. The later '70s JMs got heavy, but -- maybe because they were making so few -- they didn't seem to suffer from the messy neck pockets and other quality problems that hit Strats around that time.

@white buffalo - That thing is *incredible*! I know it's LPB, but it's almost a dead ringer for Ocean Turq now. Gorgeous guitar.

65 Jag - the color is more pink in real life... picture doesn't capture the color well...

My first - '65 Mustang - it had an old Dimarzio and a locking nut and schallers on it when I got it...I put it back to original condition. Oh, and it had a Fender case logo screwed in behind the bridge!

the parts Jazzmaster - '62 body/electronics/pickguard/hardware. Has a MJT refinish (OTM) and a Musikraft neck (I had bought it with a MIJ neck and an iffy finish)

I had sold the '65 Mustang, but came across a '66 in iffy condition, so it's been my latest project - it had been refinished (even the neck) in a house paint red, so it's got a MJT Daphne Blue refinish, otherwise it's original.

and it's not a Fender, but it was a cool guitar (another project), kinda wish I still had it -

1966 Mustang, had to rescue it from a Guitar Center

1958 Musicmaster partscaster, '58 neck, first generation modified body, currently a Lollar pickup. I may trade out the body here for another more original one.

The Musicmaster and Duo Sonic are sort of odd twins. One has a v1 neck and a v2 body and the other is the opposite.

Here is one I've owned in the (distant) past. Don't have any offsets just now...
