I don't own one....but always wanted one. Let's see what you got!
No love? I'm shocked.
i find it really funny. someone posts a "show your les paul, strat, tele" or any classic guitar design thread, and people jump on.
as soon as you say Ibanez or Jackson. no one cares.
do that on a forum filled with children/teens, like "ultimate-guitar" or "MXtabs"
and the roll is reversed. hundreds of pictures of Ibanez and Jackson.
practically no classic designs.
same with amps. here it's the classic: fenders, marshalls, hiwatts
there its the High Gain: Engl, Peavey, Krank
RDM, wish I could help you out, bro, but right now my only Ibanezes are acoustics. Had many Ibanez electrics over the years, but alas, sold them.
20th anniv. RG550. 2nd only in quality to my PRS guitars, which of course are great but a distant runner-up to my Thorn.
I like the RG550 enough that it still has the stock pickups. Not something I can say about my PRSi. I'd take this 550 over any Gibson, any day.
I have an '89 rg550 that is currently "on the bench" for an overhaul. I don't have pics though!! Mine's ALL black with a rosewood board. Trying to get pickup suggestions.
Check out this thread:
I was going to go back to a Tele or even a Strat for my next guitar.....but I think I'm going to go with an Ibanez.
Desert Yellow 550 with a red telephone coil cable - F'n SWEET!!
I love that pic of him....haha. Something about playing that guitar infront of the capital building gives me a real feeling of "sticking it to the man with rock and roll"
You want to talk about sticking it to the man??
We were playing the DC Pride festival!!
My 20th 550 going through some upgrades....................I have to admit I was shocked at the wiring mess when I lifted the pickguard.
or Harmony Central
its an little more mature crowd here . ibanez are good guitars, i have an SZ and like them a lot but lets face it they dont usually get the juices flowing.
what do these RG550's run in today's market-pricewise? I got a line on an original '90's 550.
In good condition anywhere from $450 up to $700 depending on the color.
I do not really like to buy them un-seen unless I know the guy and he knows guitars very well as the wizard necks have been known to twist.
