    Well
I'm planning on modding my affinity squire strat
Which is my first guitar and I'm never gonna sell it
I believe that many TGP brothers would have experience on modding a squier

    Please share your modded squier
To brainstorm me on my plan-to-be-modded strat!

This was a Squier CV50 tele. I converted to an Esquire. Swapped out pretty much everything but the body. Don mare El Black Krowe pickup, decent pots, switch, PiO cap, Callaham bridge, bakelite guard, Crook tele neck.

Just got new handmade pickups made for my seafoam green squier by a guy in Minneapolis who calls his stuff "Revel pickups". Getting all new wiring and tonepots, then maybe a refret if I love the pickups. Got his spin on a fender custom shop fat 50's neck pickup, and a double blade high output humbucker for the bridge. Keeping the middle the same. I've played so many damn shows with that squier, even if I don't use it much,, it still deserves to be brought up a level...

...this one started life as a Fender Japan Squier in the late eighties...i've been modding it for about 15 years...the only original parts are the body.. strap buttons and neckplate...i steel wooled the poly gloss down to a satin finish...it has an allparts V neck...a Wilkinson bridge with Glendale saddles...a FujiJen mini humbucker and a Harmonic Design vintage plus bridge pup...mojotone wiring harness and a galvanized carriage bolt in the hole where i once added a Les Paul style 3 way switch....and an electrosocket jack...it sounds as bad ass as it looks...

...here it is hanging with my other modded squier which started out as a CV pine body tele...it also has only the body, neckplate and strap buttons remaining...it has a Baja tele neck...Glendale bridge and saddles..D.Allen Cheetah pickups...mojotone reverse harness and of course an electrosocket jack..its a tele lovers tele....

Most are half Squier/half Fender. Some are gone.

Nice! Did you install new tuners as well? I have a cv Tele and am not a huge fan of the stock tuners. I'm wondering what a good, cheap upgrade would be.

What exactly don't you like about the tuners? I mean, do you like vintage type tuners but think your particular set are substandard or do you just not like vintage type tuners?

    Sweet Esquire!

But I want to know at what point a modded Squier becomes a partscaster with a Squier body!

    I approve this thread

    Squier VM Tele Special.
    As new
    [IMG]

Swapped pots to CTS with .022 PIO cap. New CRL switch, electrosocket. Callaham bridge plate with comp saddles and notched for the Bigsby B5. Fender Fidelitron neck and Fralin SP43 bridge pickup. Dunlop Straplocks. Fender Silverface amp knobs and tophat switch tip.
Neck and tuners are stock- work great. Next upgrade will be polished bone nut.

    Can't stop modding mine :bonk

Started out like this kinda sorta. At this point I had sanded down the black headstock and put a Fender Decal on it cause ... I hated the black headstock and I had s Fender decal laying around :dude

Then I put a black guard on it and in and a Hot Rails pickup with a push pull pot for series/parallel. Also installed a treble bleed :aok

Then I was curious how a maple neck would look on it so I came across a MIM neck and plopped that on.

This is how she looks ... For now :bonk

Love the Black DBL bound body on this. :aok

My opinion on the subject is that once the neck or body are replaced, it's a partscaster.
