I was in a new music store near My house today. The Guy had a Blackface Showman non-reverb head with a 2x12 cab in incredible condition for $899.00. It said on the tag it was a '63 to '67.

That's about right if it is unmolested. They did not, however come with a 2x12 cab. Either 1x15 or 2x15s.

Probably a Bassman or Bandmaster 2x12 cab. Still a pretty good deal if the heads in clean original condition.
    Those are great sounding heads.

One of the last vintage Fender amps at a resasonable price. They do sound huge. I wish I had one. IMO way better the Bassmans and Bandmasters.

Actually I'm not sure about the speakers. It was about the size of a 2x12.

That's better. There is a good chance it is the original 1x15 cab the Showman was shipped with. If that is the case I suggest you buy it ASAP. The matching head and cab is worth more than a mismatched set. The head should bolt to the cab and the cab should have tilt back legs. A fine old vintage Fender rig.

The head was indeed bolted to the cab. I'm telling You Guys, this thing is emaculate. Looks like a recent r.i. BTW it doesn't say "Dual Showman." Not sure what difference that makes in the value.

the dual showman = 4 ohm OT, showman = 8 ohm OT.

This means if the speaker cab has two speakers it is not the right cab.

The Showman came with 1x15 cab and the Dual Showman came with 2x15 cab. The Showman was made before the Dual Showman. Buy that rig!

My Showman sounds killer! With a good cab, that's not a bad deal.

They had a Fernandes Strat with Texas Specials that I plugged in and it was heavenly. The guitar was noisy as hell though. I wish I had the money. He barters so I thought about taking in some other amps and seeing how close to a fair deal He'd come.
