Shut Down Tone Better

I have a Kustom 36 Coupe with 6L6 tubes running through 2x12 speakers (1x12 extension cab).

I like the tone when I'm playing but If I keep playing as I flip the stand by switch the tone get so much better as it's fading out.

Is this the EVH brown sound? Could I get this sound with the amp on using a variac on the power supply or something?

Im with ya on this one. Im running an old vht pittbull 50 and as soon as i flip the power switch its almost like a super presence boost or somethig, but only for like 2 seconds lol. Wish i could harness the sound while its still on......

I read somewhere that playing after you hit the standby switch and the power is fading is not good for your amp. I forget why and can't confirm it's even true.

I heard all it does is drain your caps.
