To me this is beautiful with a 67 piece orchestra and the boys choir which featured on the Harry Potter films.

Thoughts?...

gawd. Sigur Ros does things to me when I listen to their music that just don't come easy. I ache....in a good way. Plaintive. Longing. The one that got away.
And I don't understand a word. Brilliant.
great video. If you never learned how to use space and time in your music....listen to these guys. and Bjork.

I've seen them live before. Amazing.

Jonsi, the singer, is playing here next month. Can't wait.

I saw the Coachella vid from Jonsi this year. Sublime. You can't be American (North, Central, South) and produce that music.

TAKE IT BACK! just kidding but that was amazing!

c'mon...tell me why? My thought is that is is just not in the American culture (again, Norte ,Cental, Sud) to produce this kind of music....elements of it, yes.

Thanks for posting that. I personally found the orchestra and choir a little overblown but it's definitely an interesting and beautiful sound that Sigur Ros has...

Love, love, love these guys. It's rare that something grips my soul from the first spin. I remember pulling over and just sitting in a parking lot and listening to the entire Agaetis Byrjun album when I bought it.

You're in for a treat. I saw him on Thursday. TBH I didn't think much of his album, but live the songs really worked for me, it's a great show.

We saw that performance - at the end, when he did Grow Till Tall, the build up gave me full body chills for the last three minutes of the piece.

It was probably my favorite moment of the entire weekend.

Got tickets to see him in a couple of weeks...really looking forward to it.

Amazing.

Sigur Ros is one of those bands where I don't know what they're singing about, but I definitely know what they're singing about.

...I don't know what they're singing about...
They're not necessarily singing anything actually.
Wikipedia said:
Vonlenska is a term used to describe the unintelligible lyrics sung by the band,[23] in particular by Jón Þór Birgisson. It is also commonly known by the English translation of its name, Hopelandic. It takes its name from "Von", a song on Sigur Rós’s debut album Von where it was first used.
Vonlenska is a non-literal language, without fixed syntax, and differs from constructed languages that can be used for communication. It focuses entirely on the sounds of language; lacking grammar, meaning, and even distinct words. Instead, it consists of emotive non-lexical vocables and phonemes; in effect, Vonlenska uses the melodic and rhythmic elements of singing without the conceptual content of language. In this way, it is similar to the use of scat singing in vocal jazz. The band’s website describes it as "a form of gibberish vocals that fits to the music".
