What's the difference between the two versions? Is the MK1 no good or just different?
The basic difference is that the Mk.1 is brighter and gainier than the Mk.2 - basically more aggressive sounding.
The Mk.1 is not "bad" at all.
In fact, lots of people prefer it to the Mk.2 and vice versa.
GREAT PEDAL, either way. HUGE tone-shaping abilities.
Hey, Erskin do you work for Catalinbread? My friend Ben did the new website.
Yeah - I do online customer support, product manuals/web text, QC/final testing/packaging, and a little video demo hackery.
Ben did a great job!
The website does look great.
Also love the new look on the super chile and Varioboost!
What's up with those new designs?
Erk...give us DETAILS, man..DETAILS!
The VariO's current graphics were leftover from the v1 version, frankly they were kind of an afterthought on our part. This newer vertical layout and new graphics are really just to freshen up the look of the pedal - nothing has changed inside.
The SCP was looking a little monochromatic too, so Nic tried to liven it up some. We also had some negative comments about the horizontal layout and thought we'd try it vertically to see if people prefer it.
Thanks for asking!
Yeah, I'm a MK1 fan. Would have loved to pick up a second MK1 for my other board, but I will have to try a MK 2.
