How different are the 5F1 circuit to a Silverface circuit? I know anything is possible, but is it so far off that you'd have to just do a rebuild?

Thanks

The two main differences are: the 5F1 has a single tone control and lower voltages. The SF Champ has a Blackface-style tone stack (bass & treble with fixed midrange), which robs the amp of more gain than the simple "tweed" style tone control. It wouln't be that hard to rewire the amp to have a tweed style tone control. You'd have to drop the voltages a little, too.
5F1 does NOT have a tone control. Volume control only.

Conversion from Silver to Tweed would be a snap.

Going back to building one. I have a friend that has a bunch of NOS Black Beauty & Mallroy caps. Found a guy who makes a killer lacquered cab. Going back and forth right now.

I really want one of these. Kicking myself for not buying a 1958 Champ last year when I had the chance :facepalm
