Silvertone Amp Question

I've got a Silvertone 1472 on it's way to me this week (won on the 'bay just last night) and was wondering if anyone could tell me the tonal differences between this model and the 1482? I know the 1472 is an earlier model and has some voltage differences from the 1482 but I couldn't find any other info about them. How about it folks?

Similar, but different. Someone recently was asking about modifying a 1472 into a 1482, but it's not really an easy modification. The 1482 has higher voltages, and puts out more wattage. They do sound somewhat similar, but not exact.

Ah, I've wondered about that myself. I have a couple of 1482's and a 1472. Basic tone is similar, but the 1472 is not as loud, and saturates/distorts much quicker than the 1482.

Are the trannies the same in both amps?

Trannies are different in the two different models.
