Anyone ever successfully (or semi-successfully) simulate the sound of a rockabilly slap bass on an electric? Any tips to impart?

Yep, I'm hip to the flatwounds, just thinking about that particular slap sound... the "click" they get. Some combination of effects? delay plus...?

black tapewounds may get you closer than flatwounds.

string hitting the board...fingers hitting the string..lotsa clicks possible.

but the high action string hitting the board is key...
