I just mentioned in a previous thread that I have an affinity for single knob pedals -- dirt boxes in particular. To my mind, they offer a soothing alternative to the 'options anxiety' many of us experience these days. And, well... they're idiot proof.

    My personal faves are my:
    - Earthquaker Devices Speaker Cranker
    - Creepy Fingers Fuzzbud
    - Lovepedal Amp50

Each one sounds absolutely glorious. (I could do a few more posts solely focused on their great tone.) And they are absolutely unbeatable in form and function. One knob. Stellar sounds. Job done!

So, what are you favorite single knobbers? I'm anxious to know which pedals I should be on the lookout for! :)

Analogman Beano Boost. Ignore the little flippy switch!

I like treble boost the most, also the EHX LPB-1 is great.... most boosts have 1 knob though.

EHX Muff Fuzz/Overdrive is great, especially on bass. It cleans up great too.

Never tried one, but the D*A*M meathead sounds amazing in every video I watch.

Hmmm, I guess I could have listed the Electro-Harmonix Muff Overdrive, too. Although I'd be cheating a little, because I have the Double Muff, which is 2-Muffs-in-1, one gain knob for each. It's a damn fine pedal, btw! It took me awhile to catch on to it (apparently, the more savvy amongst us had already discovered its awesomeness.)

Anyone familiar with the Greer Black Fuzz single-knobber. Typically, I have an aversion to gooped pedals, but then again... it's a single knobber! With a chicken-head knob, too, I might add!

I've been eyeing the Beano Boost for some time now, although I tend to keep my amp set clean at all times. Anyone use this pedal *in front* of other dirt pedals? And, if so, does it work well that way?

For single knobbers I liked the Amp 50 when I got it but it got replaced by something or other, can't remember what exactly. Recently I got a COT50 w/Angus mod off of a fellow Forum member and it's on the board to stay. I say that now but it's all that for sure.

I was looking into a Lumpy's Tone Shop one knob Jelly Roll, but he stopped making it.

Beano Boost and the Bad Bob is pretty great too.
I've been through many versions of the COT50, but the volume boost didn't ever work in my rig and I didn't like the ones with a master volume. But, the original Lovepedal one-knob Woodrow was a great, tweed sounding pedal.

    Greer black fuzz
    Keeley katana

Both awesome and fairly 'cheap' pedals

Zvex super hard on... Not cheap but my favorite booster (I like treble)

Big +1 on the treble booster comments, and I also enjoyed the COT50 Red I had years ago. It made every other dirt pedal after it sound better.

I've been here over six years and I just recently tried the Tchula. That thing packs a heck of a punch for a single knobber. It's changed the way I play.

Tis my favorite by far, killer little fuzz that beast! I currently have two of them. Definitely worth checking out if you have the scratch! I also really like the Xotic EP Booster.

    Truth.

    Me too...

I'd also add the TF 75 Special - awesome dirty boost.

    cheers!
