I've always stood, with guitar on strap, at performances... electric guitar with a full band.

Acoustic shows are different. I usually sat during those.

Now that I'm playing more jazz I tend to sit for even electric gigs. I guess it depends on the music for me.

I would rather stand and go to a wine and cheese show. Then see any of those bands.

You wouldn't see John Jorgenson Quintet?

    How about Leo Kottke?

Depends on the band and the venue.

I thought you meant when we ourselves are playing! That's a whole cargo shorts/music stands on stage thread right there.

I prefer to sit, but if it is a high energy show, I understand many will want to stand. I'm okay with it if we can sit a little.

Just don't ask me to mosh. :eeks

The thing I've always hated about main floor tickets is knowing everyone is going to stand and some idiots will stand on their chairs.

I generally do what people around me are doing. If someone stands up and blocks my view, then I'm standing up. Sorry people behind me, but this is rock n roll, not the opera. I paid to enjoy myself on my feet as much as you paid to enjoy yourself sitting down.

I also tend to not go to shows where I know its a sea of GA seats and half the people are gonna wanna sit (classic rock, blues, etc).

A small venue with tables, of course I’ll stay seated. Generally admission dance floor type of venue, standing.

I've done both for the same group at different shows. For Govt Mule I've stood in front of the stage and I've also sat down in back. Black Crowes the same thing...
